Common Questions
Applicants need to provide evidence of an IELTS overall score of 6.0, with a minimum score of 5.5 for Writing and 6.0 for Listening. Students who do not meet the English requirements will be given a Provisional Letter of Offer and will be required to enrol in a suitable English language course prior to commencing their studies at AIE. Certain exempt categories apply, such as citizens of the UK, USA, Canada, NZ or Republic of Ireland, or students who have completed at least five years' study in designated English-speaking countries.
Yes. As part of your entry into the course, AIE will conduct an interview with a teacher to assess your suitability for the course including any specific requirements you may have. At the interview, they will look at your portfolio to see what knowledge and skills you are bringing into the course. You can visit AIE's website for more information about the interview process and what they are looking for in a portfolio.
Completion of high school in your home country is highly desirable; however, students who do not fulfil this requirement are still encouraged to apply, as the success of an application is primarily decided on portfolio or programming potential. Students with existing skills or experience can also apply for Direct Entry and may be eligible for credit and/or advanced standing into the second year of study.
Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Canberra offer a range of accommodation options for international students including hostels, serviced apartments, furnished or unfurnished houses or flats/apartments. International students often organise temporary accommodation for their arrival and then find rental accommodation in a share house or independently. Generally, accommodation becomes more expensive the closer it is to the CBD, so you would need to consider the combined cost of rent and transport when choosing accommodation. More information is available at www.studyinaustralia.gov.au.
Yes. In addition to tuition fees, there may be additional resources students need to purchase including textbooks, stationery, hardware, software and other material and equipment. Students intending to study in Australia are also required to take out Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) before being issued with a Student Visa. AIE's preferred OSHC provider is Australian Health Management (AHM). Please contact AIE for further information on additional resource costs.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
