The course is structured to be delivered over 52 weeks, comprising of 36 weeks of delivery and 16 weeks of holidays.
Students are required to have an English proficiency level equivalent to IELTS 6.0 or to complete and pass the HIA English Test.
Assessment is competency based. Students are required to complete written and practical tasks, which reflect the requirements of the units of competency and current workplace practices. Assessment is continuous throughout the duration of the course, and students are provided with a Student Assessment Booklet at the commencement of each unit of competency.
Possible job titles relevant to this qualification include IT Business Analyst, Cyber Security Specialist, and IT Support Specialist. Graduates may also continue their studies into higher education such as the ICT60220 Advanced Diploma of Information Technology or a bachelor's program in the same field.
The total number of units of competency (subjects) required to receive this qualification is 20, comprising of 6 core and 14 elective units.
