Diploma of Information Technology

The Diploma of Information Technology (ICT50220) is a nationally recognised VET qualification offered by The Canberra Training School Pty. Ltd., trading as Canberra Business and Technology College (CBTC). It reflects the role of individuals in a variety of ICT roles who have established specialised skills in a technical ICT function, carrying out moderately complex tasks in a specialist field while working independently, as part of a team, or leading a deliverable, across a wide range of industries, business functions and departments, or as a business owner.

Career outcomes span advanced networking, advanced programming, back end and front end web development, business analysis, cloud engineering, cyber security, database and data management, and game art and design.

Delivered over 52 weeks through a mix of traditional classroom, online, blended and workplace-based training, the course comprises 20 units of competency (6 core and 14 elective, with electives selected in consultation with industry). Entry requires an IELTS score of 5.5 (or equivalent, no more than 2 years old) with a minimum of 5.0 in each band, alongside completion of Year 12 or an equivalent high school certificate. Classes are delivered from CBTC's Canberra and Sydney campuses.
