Diploma of Interior Design

The Diploma of Interior Design has a duration of 1 year for international students at TAFE NSW.

The course fee for international students ranges from $24,850 to $25,970 AUD. Additional costs for uniforms, equipment, textbooks and materials (if applicable) range from $300 to $1,000 AUD per course.

Through a mix of theory and practical coursework, you will learn to establish, negotiate and refine a design brief, create digital designs, illustrations and constructions, design colour schemes for interior and exterior spaces, apply creative design methods, evaluate site structures and services, create design documentation, and produce digital presentations. You will also gain practical experience creating 3D models, working with interior lighting, trialling colour in various contexts, experimenting with different textures and surfaces, and producing presentations in a professional manner.

After completing the Diploma of Interior Design, you may be eligible to apply for the Bachelor of Interior Design degree at the Design Centre Enmore. TAFE NSW also has partnerships with a number of Australian universities that offer guaranteed entry and credit transfer to eligible students. You may also gain entry to other universities using your TAFE NSW qualifications, with acceptance and credit transfer varying depending on the university and course studied.
