Diploma of Leadership and Management

Doing business in the 21st century, with its focus on a global economy, is more and more complex: you need to be multi-skilled, innovative, analytical, able to solve problems, and to have excellent communication and organisational skills. The Diploma of Leadership and Management (BSB50420) at Academies Australasia Polytechnic is a comprehensive and practical nationally recognised course that gives students the skills, knowledge and qualification required to secure a position in their chosen area of business. Over four terms (36 college weeks) of on-campus study, students learn to manage business operational plans, develop and use emotional intelligence, manage team effectiveness, and lead and manage effective workplace relationships. Communication units build the ability to communicate with influence, while governance and compliance units cover ensuring a safe workplace for a work area and managing business risk. Financial and service units address managing budgets and financial plans and managing organisational customer service, and developmental units cover developing critical thinking in others, managing personal and professional development, and developing workplace policies and procedures for sustainability. The Diploma prepares graduates for a broad spread of supervisory and management roles across the private and public sectors, and is the standard pathway into the Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management (BSB60420).
