Diploma of Leadership and Management

The Diploma of Leadership and Management (BSB50420) is a VET qualification from Wall Street College's Melbourne campus for individuals applying practical leadership and management skills across a range of enterprise and industry contexts. Students at this level plan, organise, implement and monitor their own workload and that of others, using communication skills to support individuals and teams in meeting organisational requirements.

The course covers 12 units of competency — six core and six elective. Core units include communicating with influence, developing critical thinking in others, leading effective workplace relationships, managing business operational plans, developing emotional intelligence and managing team effectiveness, complemented by electives such as managing meetings, business resources, business risk and people performance.

Delivered face-to-face at the Melbourne campus over 52 weeks (40 weeks of class, 12 weeks of holiday), with 20 hours of class time per week plus roughly 5 hours of self-paced study.

Graduates are prepared for roles such as sales team manager, frontline manager, business development manager, business manager and production manager, with a direct pathway into the Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management for further study.
