Diploma of Leadership and Management

The BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management is delivered by Daffodil College at its Sydney CBD campus over 78 weeks, combining 60 weeks of structured training across six 10-week terms with scheduled holiday breaks. The qualification develops the leadership skills needed to inspire teams, make sound decisions and guide others towards organisational goals, alongside strategic planning skills for creating and implementing strategies to meet business objectives. Students strengthen verbal and written communication for effective leadership, problem-solving skills for identifying issues and implementing solutions, and team management skills for motivating and developing high-performing teams. The course also builds project management capability for planning and delivering projects on time and within budget, a foundational understanding of financial management including budgeting and resource allocation, operational management skills for improving business efficiency, and emotional intelligence and change management skills for leading through organisational change. The program comprises core and elective units of competency selected by Daffodil College to give students a broad grounding in leadership and management practice. Training is delivered in a blended format — 15 hours face-to-face and 5 hours online each week on a full-time basis — supported by simulated work environments. Graduates are prepared for management roles across a wide range of industries, with a pathway to the BSB60420 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management.
