Common Questions
Yes. Graduates can use the Diploma as an entry pathway into the Associate Degree of Law (Paralegal Studies) and Bachelor of Legal and Justice Studies, providing up to eight (8) units of credit towards these courses.
For domestic students, the course is available at Gold Coast and Online, with intakes in March (Term 1) and July (Term 3). For international students, the course is available at Gold Coast with intakes in Term 1 and Term 3. Please note some locations may not have all intake periods available.
International applicants must meet a minimum IELTS Overall Score of 5.5, with minimum scores of 5.5 in Writing, and 5.0 in Reading, Speaking, and Listening.
The indicative fee for domestic students is $15,810 (first year only) in a Commonwealth Supported Place, where the Government pays some of the fees and the student pays the rest as the Student Contribution Amount, which can be deferred through a HECS-HELP loan.
The course comprises 8 core units including Language and Learning in Your Discipline, Legal Research and Writing, Criminal Process, Interviewing Negotiation and Ethics, Australian Legal System, A Culture of Enquiry, Principles of Contract Law, and Family Law Practice.
