The course is delivered over a period of 78 weeks, equating to 54 contact study weeks plus 24 weeks for holidays.
Students must have an English proficiency level equivalent to IELTS 6.0, or alternatively complete and pass the HIA English Assessment.
Assessment is competency based. Students are required to complete written and practical tasks which reflect the requirements of the units of competency and current workplace practices. Assessment is continuous throughout the duration of the course, and students are provided with a Student Assessment Booklet at the commencement of each unit of competency.
Entry is limited to those who have completed specific units including BSBCMM411, BSBCRT412, BSBMKG433, BSBMKG435, BSBMKG439, and BSBWRT411 (or equivalent competencies), or who have two years of equivalent full-time relevant work experience. Applicants must also be 18 years or over and have satisfactorily completed Australian Year 12 or equivalent.
Once students have completed the BSB50620 Diploma of Marketing and Communication, they will be able to seek employment or continue their studies into higher education. Possible job titles include Marketing and Communications Manager and Account Manager (Advertising). Graduates may also undertake further study such as the BSB60520 Advanced Diploma of Marketing and Communication or a Bachelor program in the same field.
