Diploma of Marketing and Communication

The Diploma of Marketing and Communication (BSB50620) at Academies Australasia Polytechnic moves students from executing marketing activities to planning and managing them. Managing the marketing process requires knowledge of both the marketplace and the implications of the marketing mix, and this nationally recognised qualification builds that knowledge across three terms (27 college weeks) of on-campus study. Students learn to identify and evaluate marketing opportunities and to establish and monitor the marketing mix, then move into designing and developing marketing communication plans and undertaking project work. Digital units cover developing a social media strategy and developing a digital marketing plan, while research and analysis units cover planning and interpreting market research, planning and monitoring direct marketing activities, and conducting marketing audits. Content and service units address writing persuasive copy and managing organisational customer service, and a professional unit covers managing personal and professional development. The qualification provides access to positions across advertising, direct marketing, promotion marketing and marketing research. Direct entry is available to students who have completed the Certificate IV in Marketing and Communication, or the specified equivalent units, or who have two years equivalent full-time relevant work experience.
