Common Questions
International students must be over eighteen years old and must have completed 6 core units from the BSB40820 Certificate IV in Marketing and Communications. They also need successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent, an IELTS score of 6.0 overall (no less than 5.5 in each band) or equivalent English proficiency, and must complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) skills assessment before enrolment.
The Diploma of Marketing and Communication has a duration of up to 78 weeks, which includes 60 weeks of course delivery plus 18 weeks of term break.
The course is offered in a blended mode of delivery and assessment, requiring students to attend 15 hours of face-to-face full-time classroom study plus complete 5 hours of structured online learning every week through the Mercury Colleges ELearn platform. Teachers deliver lectures and tutorials face to face on campus and students complete weekly study online through ELearn.
Students who complete the BSB50620 Diploma of Marketing and Communication may progress to the BSB60520 Advanced Diploma of Marketing and Communications and/or the BSB60420 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management.
Students access assessments through the ELearn platform. Assessment methods include Demonstrations, Presentations, Class Tests, Projects, Written Reports, and Financial Calculations. Students must also have their own laptop computer and pay a one-off compulsory resource fee to access the ELearn online learning resource.
