Yes, eligible domestic students can use FEE-HELP to defer tuition fees for the Diploma of Media and Communications at UNSW College. FEE-HELP is an Australian Government loan that covers tuition fees with no upfront costs — repayments begin only when your taxable income reaches the compulsory repayment threshold, which is set at $67,000 from 1 July 2025.
The Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) is payable when you enrol in a Diploma Program at UNSW College. It covers non-academic services including counselling, career and financial advice, health and food services, and sports activities. For 2026, the SSAF is $124.33 per term for full-time students and $93.25 per term for part-time students. Note that domestic students commencing in January and May 2026 will not be charged SSAF for their first term of studies.
SA-HELP is an Australian Government loan available to eligible domestic students who do not wish to pay their SSAF upfront. However, please note that SA-HELP is currently not available for the May 2025 intake. Eligibility requirements for SA-HELP are the same as for FEE-HELP, including being an Australian citizen, New Zealand SCV holder, permanent humanitarian visa holder, or Pacific Engagement Visa holder studying in Australia.
If you temporarily suspend your studies, your FEE-HELP status will remain in place. However, if you transfer to another course, you will need to complete a new FEE-HELP form. It is important to be aware of census dates, as fees paid before the census date can be managed directly with UNSW College.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
