Academic Entry Requirements Students must have: completed Australian year 11 and 12 or equivalent, or completed a Certificate III qualification and above under Australian Qualifications Framework ‍ The nursing program will include attendance of on-campus classroom lectures, simulated workshops in the skills laboratory (clinical training facility), self-directed study, and clinical placements. Students will also need to have a basic understanding and knowledge of how to use a computer device, as academic learning materials will be accessible via the learning portal for self-directed study. Students will need to commit to full-time study over four consecutive terms for 78 weeks to achieve this qualification. Terms will include orientation (first term only), professional experience placement, mid-term break, a study or assessment recess, exam or assessment time and an end of term break. ‍ ‍ LLND Requirements A. For applicants with English as their second language: Proficiency in English language for people with English as a second language (this is also required for registration with AHPRA, NMBA as an enrolled nurse requirement): a. The IELTS (academic module) with a minimum overall score of 7 and a minimum score of 7 in each of the four components (listening, reading, writing and speaking). NOTE: We will only accept test results: i. From one test sitting, or ii. A maximum of two test sittings in a six-month period only if: You achieve a minimum overall score of 7 in each sitting, and You achieve a minimum score of 7 in each component across the two sittings, and No score in any component of the test is below 6.5. b. The OET with a minimum score of 350 for listening, 360 for reading, 350 for writing, and 360 for speaking. NOTE: Queensford College will only accept test results: From one test sitting, or A maximum of two test sittings in a six-month period only if: you are tested in all four components in each sitting, and you achieve the minimum required score in each component across the two sittings, and no score in any component of the test is below C+. c. The PTE Academic with a minimum overall score of 63 and a minimum score of 58 for listening, 59 for reading, 60 for writing, and 76 for speaking. NOTE: Queensford College will only accept test results: i. From one test sitting, or ii. A maximum of two test sittings in a six-month period only if: A minimum overall score of 63 is achieved in each sitting, and You achieve the minimum required score in each of the communicative skills across the two sittings, and No score in any of the communicative skills is below 58. d. The TOEFL iBT with a minimum total score of 91 and the following minimum score in each section of the test: 22 for listening, 22 for reading, 23 for writing, and 24 for speaking. NOTE: Queensford College will only accept test results: From one test sitting, or A maximum of two test sittings in a six-month period only if: A minimum total score of 91 is achieved in each sitting, and you achieve the minimum required section scores across the two sittings, and No score in any of the sections is below the baseline single-sitting requirement. Test results will be accepted if they were obtained within the two years before the date you apply to study HLT54121 Diploma of Nursing at Queensford College. For the purposes of calculating time, if an applicant relies on test results from two sittings, time begins to run from the date of the earlier sitting. B. For applicants with English as their primary language: Signed declaration saying that English is their primary language, and; Have attended and satisfactorily completed at least six years of primary and secondary education taught and assessed solely in English in a recognised country, including at least two years between years 7 and 12. Recognised country means one of the following countries: Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, South Africa, United Kingdom, and United States of America. Language Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Requirements: In accordance with Standard 2.2 of the Standards for RTOs 2025, Queensford College uses a range of mechanisms to identify any support individual students need prior to the enrolment or commencement (whichever is the earliest) and provide access to the required support throughout their training. One of the mechanisms used is the assessment of LLN skills and provision of support. Queensford College uses the LLN Robot as an LLN diagnostic tool to identify the suitability any support requirements. Students will be required to undertake the LLN assessment at the College under supervision. Based on the results of the LLN assessment, support strategies will be identified and implemented to maximise the student’s chance of successful completion. Queensford College does not recommend acceptance with very low scores. Queensford College recommends accepting students with one point below the required score as indicated on this ACSF Course profile. Student must be aged 18 years or above at commencement of course. If your ultimate goal is to become a Registered Nurse by completing a Bachelor's degree, having your Diploma first allows you to work as a qualified Enrolled Nurse, earning better pay while directly applying what you learn in your degree to your day-to-day job.
