The Diploma of Nursing has a requirement of 400 hours of work placement. During your studies, you will have the opportunity to gain competence in delivering care in multiple healthcare industry and community settings.
Yes. The program is accredited by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC), so you know it meets the required education standards of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA). Think Education is also a member of the Australian College of Nursing, the Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association (APNA), the Congress of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nurses and Midwifery (CATSINaM), and is represented on the Council of Deans of Nursing and Midwifery (CDNM).
On completion of the HLT54121 Diploma of Nursing, you are eligible to apply for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), enabling you to work as an Enrolled Nurse (EN) in hospital, aged care or other community health settings. Potential career paths include Enrolled Nurse, Acute Care, Aged Care, and Chronic Care roles, with salaries ranging from approximately $61,460 to $124,488 AUD. 95% of Nursing graduates are employed within 12 months.
The course is delivered on campus and via blended learning across four campus locations: Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Brisbane. Thanks to blended learning, students spend one day on campus developing practical skills and other days focusing on theory online. International students on a student visa must not enrol into any more than a third or 33% of online subjects over their course and must study at least one subject that is face to face in each trimester.
The Diploma of Nursing takes 1.6 years (5 Trimesters) to complete when studying full time. Upcoming start dates include 01 Jun 2026 and 14 Sep 2026.
