Diploma of Nursing

Academic: Completion of Australian Year 12 or equivalent; OR Completion of a Certificate IV level or higher qualification or equivalent. English Proficiency: Applicants must meet the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) English Language Registration Standard: Primary Language Pathway – Complete a declaration to declare English as their primary language; OR English Language Test Pathway – Provide test result reports for one of the following tests taken within the 2 years prior to completing an application (scores apply to tests taken on or after 23 April 2026): Cambridge (C1 Advanced): Minimum overall score of 178, and a minimum score of 175 in listening, 179 in reading, 180 in writing and 194 in speaking. Cambridge (C2 Proficiency): Minimum overall score of 185, and a minimum score of 185 in each of the listening, reading and speaking components, and a minimum score of 176 in writing. IELTS Academic: Overall score of at least 7, and a minimum score of 7 in each of the listening, reading and speaking components, and a minimum score of 6.5 in writing. PTE Academic: Minimum overall score of at least 63, and a minimum score of 58 in listening, 59 in reading, 60 in writing and 76 in speaking. OET: Minimum scores of 350 in listening, 360 in reading, 350 in writing and 360 in speaking. TOEFL iBT: Minimum total score of 91, and a minimum score of 22 in listening, 22 in reading, 23 in writing and 24 in speaking. Other Requirements: Applicants must be at least 18 years old at the time of course commencement. Successful completion of the language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) test and demonstration of competence level as exit level 3. Completion of a Pre-Enrolment Interview. Basic Computer Literacy. Before commencement of Clinical Work Placement, students are also required to provide: National Police Certificate (must be less than 6 months' old), WA Department of Health Criminal History Record Check, Evidence of Current Vaccinations, Evidence of COVID-19 Vaccination. Medical Clearance may also be required.

Graduates of the HLT54121 Diploma of Nursing are eligible to register as Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and can seek employment across various settings such as hospitals, aged care, disability services, community health, and acute care facilities.
