Diploma of Project Management

The BSB50820 Diploma of Project Management at New Cambridge College Sydney (NCCS) reflects the role of individuals who apply project management skills and knowledge. They may manage projects in a variety of contexts, across a number of industry sectors. They have project leadership and management roles and are responsible for achieving project objectives. They possess a sound theoretical knowledge base and use a range of specialised, technical and managerial competencies to initiate, plan, execute and evaluate their own work and/or the work of others. The qualification is made up of 12 units of competency (8 core units and 4 electives) covering the management of project scope, time, quality, cost, human resources, information and communication, risk and integration, together with managing team effectiveness, communicating with influence, managing meetings, and leading and managing effective workplace relationships. NCCS delivers the course using a Blended Learning approach over 20 hours per week for 52 weeks, structured as 6 terms of study of 6 weeks each with up to 16 weeks of holiday. Students are provided with assessment booklets, a Student Guide and resources, PowerPoint slides, computers, MS Office and the units of competency. Assessment is structured throughout the course and may include written questioning and exercises, oral questioning, projects, case study analysis, written reports, demonstration, presentation, role play and portfolio. Recognition of Prior Learning and Credit Transfer are available on application.
