Diploma of Project Management

The Diploma of Project Management (BSB50820) is a nationally recognised VET qualification offered by The Canberra Training School Pty. Ltd., trading as Canberra Business and Technology College (CBTC). It reflects the role of individuals who apply project management skills and knowledge in a variety of contexts across several industry sectors, with related job outcomes including Project Manager and Project Team Leader. These individuals hold project leadership and management responsibilities and use a sound theoretical knowledge base together with specialised technical and managerial competencies to initiate, plan, execute and evaluate their own work and/or the work of others.

The course suits career changers, those seeking employment in a business services role, and employed professionals wanting a formal qualification or recognition of existing skills.

Delivered over 52 weeks in a blended mode combining scheduled face-to-face classes with online learning activities, the course requires a recommended study commitment of 35-45 hours per week and is assessed through written assessments, projects, case studies and role plays. It comprises 12 units of competency (8 core and 4 elective) covering project scope, time, quality, cost, human resources, communication, risk and integration management. Classes are delivered from CBTC's Canberra and Sydney campuses.
