Diploma of Project Management

The BSB50820 Diploma of Project Management is a nationally accredited qualification offered by The Business School (TBS) in Campsie, NSW, designed for individuals who hold project leadership and management responsibilities across a range of enterprise and industry contexts. Students develop a sound theoretical knowledge base together with specialised technical and managerial competencies used to initiate, plan, execute and evaluate projects, either independently or by overseeing the work of others. The qualification comprises twelve units of competency in total: eight core units covering project scope, time, quality, cost, human resources, information and communication, risk, and integration management, plus four elective units selected from project procurement, stakeholder engagement, workplace sustainability, and workplace health and safety. Training is delivered face-to-face at TBS's Campsie campus over 74 weeks (six terms, including 14 weeks of holiday), with students required to attend a minimum of 20 scheduled course contact hours per week and supported by TBS's Learning Management System for access to learning and assessment resources. Assessment combines direct observation in the classroom and simulated workplace, product-based methods such as reports, portfolios, plans and presentations, and written and verbal questioning. Applicants must generally have completed Year 12 (or equivalent prior study or work experience) and be at least 18 years of age, with international students additionally required to meet an English language proficiency requirement; a course entry interview is conducted with all students before enrolment. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), credit transfer and national recognition of prior qualifications are available to eligible students. On successful completion, graduates receive an AQF-certified Diploma of Project Management and a record of results, and may pursue further study through the BSB60720 Advanced Diploma of Program Management or other advanced diplomas, graduate diplomas and tertiary business qualifications.
