People, Culture and Agile Leadership
Develops understanding of the influence of culture, politics and power on organisational behaviour. Introduces agile leadership principles, team dynamics, and the Clifton Strengths Finder Assessment.
Organisational Context and Roles in Project Management
Covers the internal and external organisational context in which projects are formed, executed, supported and evaluated. Examines stakeholder engagement and the impact of organisational context on project team roles and responsibilities.
Project Management Principles
Provides insights and principles of best practices in project management, including methods, standards, tools, techniques and language recognised by bodies such as the Project Management Institute and the Australian Institute of Project Management.
Project Management Domains (Tools and Techniques)
Covers project management domains and the tools and techniques used to plan, monitor and deliver projects. Students learn to identify and select the most effective tools based on project domains and desired outcomes.
Organisation Change Management
Prepares students to anticipate, plan and deliver organisational change. Topics include diagnostic skills, resistance to change, contextual contingencies, and common missteps of change agents.
Minor Corporate Study - Initiation of a Project
Focuses on project initiation including selection of the project manager, stakeholder identification, constraints and assumptions, governance, and practical exercises to develop project management skills in a simulated workplace.
Contracts Management and Ethics
Introduces the fundamentals of contract management and ethics in project management. Covers types of contracts, contract terms and conditions, ethical considerations, and risk and conflict avoidance.

To complete the Graduate Diploma of Project Management, you must pass 8 units (80 credit points total, 10 credit points per unit). This consists of 6 core units and 2 specialisation units. All units are at Level 4000 (AQF Level 8). There is also a nested exit qualification — the Graduate Certificate of Project Management — available after completing the first set of units (approximately 6 months full-time).
Full-time students attend 12 hours of on-campus classes per week (across 4 units). In addition, students are expected to set aside approximately 7–9 hours per week per unit for self-directed study, including assignments, readings, projects, workshop preparation, and exam preparation.
Completion of the Graduate Diploma of Project Management provides direct entry and advanced standing into the Master of Business Information Systems (Cyber Security). The diploma is also embedded within and provides a pathway into the Master of Project Management.
Yes. The Graduate Certificate of Project Management is nested within the Graduate Diploma of Project Management. It is available as an exit qualification after approximately 6 months of full-time study, specifically upon completion of the first four units: MBA4002, MBA4004, MPM4001, and MPM4003 (the exit point is marked after MPM4003 in the course structure).
