Elective unit. MIA doesn't offer this training internally. Students can complete it with other RTOs, apply for credit transfer with a valid certificate, and submit their first aid certificate before clinical work placement. Students are responsible for covering the costs associated with this Unit of Competency.

To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 200 hours of work in a simulated clinical environment as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of units of competency. These are delivered as on-campus student clinical sessions included within the 56-week full-time course.
Successful completion of Australian Year 12 or the Australian/overseas equivalent is mandatory. Additionally, as part of the enrolment process, students are required to complete a Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) test to ensure that the student has the ability to complete the course.
The course is delivered face-to-face (classroom-based) at 20 hours per week. Delivery includes in-class activities, presentations, discussions, assessment tasks, practice exercises, small group and pair learning activities, textbook and reference material use, independent reading, and learning exercises. Learning styles are catered to by using whiteboard illustrations, multimedia presentations, oral instructions with handouts and interactive learning through role plays, case studies and supervising the practical implementation of skills.
Yes. An application can be made for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) when the student believes that they have already attained the necessary skills and competencies elsewhere (work, other study etc.) or have an equivalent qualification or part of a qualification. MIA recognises the AQF qualifications and Statements of Attainment issued by any other RTOs and grants credit for these towards an award where applicable. The application for RPL and/or Credit Transfer should be lodged prior to or immediately after the enrolment.
On completing the Diploma of Remedial Massage (HLT52021), graduates can pursue roles such as Remedial Massage Therapist or Massage Therapist across complementary and alternative health fields. Graduates can work in allied health, sports therapy, clinical environments, or run their own private practice. They can also enrol in Australian Universities to continue and pursue this career path, or apply their knowledge and skills to work anywhere in the world.
