Students enrolled in HLT52021 Diploma of Remedial Massage are required to complete a minimum of 200 hours practical experience in MTI's fully supervised Student Massage Clinic, involving prepared for and managed at least 60 remedial massage musculoskeletal assessments. Clients must include males and females from different stages of life with varied presentations.
Yes, international students are still eligible to study this course. The CRICOS course code is 113180G. International students are required to have an IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent and a minimum of Australian Year 12 or equivalent, in addition to the standard entry requirements.
The course runs for 78 weeks, structured as 6 x 10 week terms plus holidays. It is delivered through a combination of online and face-to-face learning.
Graduates of the HLT52021 Diploma of Remedial Massage can pursue roles such as Massage Therapist Assistant, Massage Therapist, and Massage Therapy Practitioner. Additionally, students who successfully complete this qualification will be able to apply individually to Australian Health Funds to enable their clients to receive health rebates.
21 Units of Competency are required for the award of this qualification, consisting of 18 Core Units and 3 Elective units. Students must also have completed 200 hours of supervised student massage clinic. The elective units — Adapt massage practice for athletes, Provide reflexology for relaxation, and Provide first aid — have been selected by the college in consultation with industry experts.
