The unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
Adapt massage practice for athletes
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to determine massage needs and to adjust assessment and treatment to develop preventative and injury-related treatment strategies for athletes, sport participants and active people.
Provide reflexology for relaxation
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to gather client information, prepare equipment for reflexology, make observations of the feet and then select and use basic reflexology techniques and sequences based on information and observations.
Common Questions
After completing the Diploma of Remedial Massage, you will be qualified to work as a Remedial Massage Therapist or a Sports Massage Therapist. On completion of the Diploma you will also be eligible for Accreditation as a provider for all private health funds.
The full fee for the Diploma of Remedial Massage is $13,965 for domestic students. International students pay $16,800 in total course fees. Student loans and payment plans may be available.
You can study at South Bank, Springfield, or Toowoomba campuses on campus with some online delivery, or through Q Academy at Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, and Sydney locations with online and on campus practical training. Full time and part time options are available depending on your campus and delivery mode.
You will gain advanced skills to adapt remedial massage treatments to meet the unique needs of your clients, implement injury prevention strategies and injury specific home care. Other modalities of your training will include muscle energy techniques, myofascial release techniques, joint mobilisation, trigger point therapies, sports-specific massage techniques and deep tissue massage.
The course duration is 1 year. The next available intake starts on 27 Jan 2027 for South Bank, Springfield, and Toowoomba campuses (with a further intake on 12 Jul 2027), or anytime via Q Academy locations.
