Common Questions
When you finish the Diploma of Science, you will receive 24 credit points to enter the following science related degrees: Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Science (Environmental Science), and Bachelor of Science (Biomedical Science). For students intending to enter the Bachelor of Medical Science, you will receive 9 credit points.
The standard duration is 1 year full time or part-time equivalent, with a maximum of 4 years from date of enrolment to date of course completion.
The Diploma of Science covers biology, chemistry, physical science, mathematics and English communication. Specific units include Biology 1, Chemistry 1, Introduction to Biology, Introduction to Chemistry, Introduction to Physical Science and Maths, Analytical Skills in Science, Academic English, and Professional Orientation (Science), totalling 24 credit points.
An overall IELTS Academic score (or equivalent) of 5.5 is required, with no band score below 5.5. Students who have undertaken all of their education in an English speaking country (as defined on the UC website) are deemed to have met the English language proficiency requirements.
You will automatically receive 24 credit points when transitioning to an undergraduate science degree, which minimises the amount of study you will have to complete. However, this amount of credit impacts your ability to undertake a Breadth Major. There is no right or wrong way to use your UCC Diploma credit, but you should seek course advice during Professional Orientation (11718) to ensure your priorities for your study are met.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
