For domestic students, the total course cost is $19,500, comprising a $1,500 deposit/kit fee and $18,000 in tuition fees (no admin fee). For international students, the total is $22,500, which includes a $3,000 admin fee, a $1,500 deposit/kit fee, and $18,000 in tuition fees. Please note that admin and kit fees are non-refundable. VET Student Loans (VSL) are available for eligible domestic students, with a maximum borrowing amount of $19,920 over four census periods.
No prior makeup experience or qualifications are required. ACMUSE accepts students who are 16 and have completed Year 10. Students are not required to have an ATAR, and no images of previous work or an audition are needed. Students who have not completed Year 12 will need to complete an LLN test provided by the college prior to commencement, which is used to identify any supports a student might require.
The course runs for 44 weeks full-time, comprising 38 weeks of face-to-face study and 6 weeks of term breaks, totalling 798 supervised hours. Students attend the college 3 days per week. In addition, it is expected that each learner completes an average of 10–12 hours per week of additional self-directed study.
Assessment is ongoing and based on training package assessment criteria. There are six clustered assessment points scheduled throughout the year, including a mid-year practical assessment period in week 20 and a final practical assessment at the end of the year. Assessments are comprised of both theoretical and practical components. All practical assessments are photographed in the ACMUSE photo studio to add to students' portfolios.
