This course offers industry specialisations for you to choose from: post-production, specialist make-up services, animation, gaming and visual effects, as well as screen and media with a focus on film and TV production. You can choose the specialisation that suits your interests and career goals.
There are several fee options depending on your eligibility: Concession fee is $12,360 (for eligible students), Subsidised fee is $13,755 (for eligible government-funded students), Full fee is $18,420, TAFE at School Full Fee ranges from $5,800 to $11,600 (for high school students), and the International student fee is $22,600.
Yes, through the TAFE at School Foundation Program you can complete select units from the Diploma of Screen and Media. These units count towards your QCE and provide direct credit into the full diploma, meaning you can fast-track your studies and gain real-world skills before you even finish school. You must be a Year 11 or 12 student enrolled at a participating high school; in some instances Year 10 students may be considered.
Students learn pre and post video production skills in some of south east Queensland's best screen and media facilities. The course is delivered in TAFE Queensland's state-of-the-art professional studios by industry‑connected educators, with the latest technology and equipment to prepare you for an exciting career in screen and media.
TAFE Queensland offers several payment options including a payment plan for students who have difficulty paying the full cost upfront, upfront payment of the full fee or student contribution amount, and a VET Student Loan (up to a $19,290 cap) for eligible full fee-paying students. Note that the Australian Government charges a 20 per cent loan fee in addition to tuition fees for VET Student Loans, and this is a debt that must be repaid. International students can pay via telegraphic transfer or credit card using Convera Global Pay for Students or the Flywire Payment Portal.
