Students work in close cooperation with the medical and surgical units of Westmead Hospital, gaining an understanding of the oral health care needs of medically compromised patients, including transplant recipients.
This course has a mandatory professional practice work component where, subject to contract with the Local Health District (LHD), you may be paid for some clinical sessions (conditions apply), once enrolled in the course.
The program is directed by Associate Professor Sue-Ching Yeoh.
Applications open on 1 September, 2 years prior to the commencement year, and close on 30 June 2026 for the 2027 intake. Separate deadlines apply for scholarships.
Applicants must demonstrate a high level of English proficiency. For tests taken on or after 23 April 2026, the requirements are: IELTS (academic) with a minimum overall score of 7 and at least 7 in each component; PTE Academic with a minimum overall score of 72 and minimum scores of 72 (listening), 72 (reading), 72 (writing), and 76 (speaking); or TOEFL iBT with a minimum total score of 96 and minimum scores of 23 (listening), 23 (reading), 25 (writing), and 24 (speaking). Tests must be completed within two years of the course start date.
