Over three years you will complete a prescribed course of core units in clinical dentistry and oral surgery, developing skills in the surgical management of the full range of oral diseases in hospital and non-hospital settings, complemented by a research project in the field of oral surgery and oral pathology under the supervision of an academic staff member, culminating in the submission of a research treatise.
Graduates from this program are eligible to apply for registration with the Dental Board of Australia as specialists in oral surgery.
Applications open on 1 September, two years prior to the commencement year. For the 2027 intake, applications close on 31 March 2026.
You must meet one of the English language declarations. For tests taken on or after 23 April 2026, you need either IELTS Academic with a minimum overall score of 7 and minimum 7 in each component; PTE Academic with a minimum overall score of 72 with minimums of 72 (listening), 72 (reading), 72 (writing), and 76 (speaking); or TOEFL iBT with a minimum total of 96 with minimums of 23 (listening), 23 (reading), 25 (writing), and 24 (speaking). Tests must be completed within two years of your course commencement date. Alternatively, you may qualify if English is your primary language and you meet the education-in-English criteria.
You must submit an English Language Declaration Form, a copy of your current AHPRA Dental Registration certificate (domestic) or overseas practicing Dental registration certificate (international), a criminal record check, a current detailed Resumé outlining your employment history and relevant experience as a Dentist, contact details of two work-related referees, proof of identity (valid passport or Australian birth certificate), official academic transcripts, your final testamur or proof of qualification completion, and proof of English proficiency where required.
