The program is directed by Professor M. Ali Darendeliler.
The program takes three years to complete, during which you will complete a prescribed set of core units in clinical dentistry and orthodontics, culminating in the submission of a research treatise.
The course has a mandatory professional practice work component where, subject to contract with the Local Health District (LHD), you may be paid for some clinical sessions (conditions apply), once enrolled in the course.
Applicants must meet one of several declarations: demonstrate English as a primary language through qualifying education history, or achieve minimum test scores. For tests taken on or after 23 April 2026, the requirements are IELTS Academic with a minimum overall score of 7 and minimum 7 in each component, PTE Academic with a minimum overall score of 72 (with 76 for speaking), or TOEFL iBT with a minimum total of 96. Tests must be completed within two years of the course commencement date.
Graduates from the Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Orthodontics) program are eligible to apply for registration with the Dental Board of Australia as a specialist in orthodontics.
