About This Course

Your studies will be primarily clinical based with didactic sessions, complemented by a research project in periodontal surgery or practice under the supervision of an academic staff member. This course has a mandatory professional practice work component where subject to contract with the Local Health District (LHD), you may be paid for some clinical sessions (conditions apply), once enrolled in the course.

General Requirements

English Language Declaration Form must be uploaded with your application (updated form reflects minimum test requirements for results obtained both before and from 23 April 2026)
A copy of current AHPRA Dental Registration certificate for domestic applicants; Evidence of current overseas practicing Dental registration certificate which shows the expiry date for international applicants. If the document is issued in a language other than English, please provide the original together with an official English translation.
A criminal record check before you are considered for admissions and undertake a clinical placement in a NSW Department of Health Facility if admitted. For international candidates, you need to submit a Criminal Record Check from your own Country at the time of application. If the document is issued in a language other than English, please provide the original together with an official English translation.
Current detailed Resumé outlining evidence of position as a Dentist employment history and relevant experience.
Contact details of two work related referees including their name, position, telephone and e-mail address.
Proof of identity: a valid passport (biodata page). Alternatively, an Australian birth certificate or Australian or New Zealand citizenship certificate for domestic students.
Current or final official academic transcripts and their official English translation copy if the original transcripts were issued in a language other than English.
Final testamur or proof of completion of your qualification and its official English translation copy if it was issued in a language other than English.
Proof of English proficiency (e.g. IELTS, TOEFL results) where required.
English proficiency (for tests taken on or after 23 April 2026): IELTS Academic minimum overall 7 with minimum 7 in each component; OR PTE Academic minimum overall 72 with minimum 72 listening, 72 reading, 72 writing, 76 speaking; OR TOEFL iBT minimum total 96 with minimum 23 listening, 23 reading, 25 writing, 24 speaking.
English proficiency (for tests taken on or prior to 22 April 2026): IELTS Academic minimum overall 7 with minimum 7 in each component; OR PTE Academic minimum overall 72 with minimum 72 in each of the four communicative skills; OR TOEFL iBT minimum total 96 with minimum 24 listening, 24 reading, 25 writing, 23 speaking.
English language proficiency tests must be completed within two years of the date on which you will commence your course.
