Common Questions
Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree (recognised by the Australian Qualifications Framework or the National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition Guide) within the last 10 years, or be in the final year of a Bachelor's degree in any discipline. They are also required to provide a GAMSAT score, Grade Point Average (GPA), CASPer score from the online Situational Judgement Test, and complete an online Multiple Mini Interview (MMI). General domestic applicants must apply through GEMSAS.
Students are required to complete clinical placements and rotations across all four years of study. In years three and four, placements are undertaken in various settings including aged care facilities, public and private hospitals, general practice, and community-based services in urban and rural areas across Australia. Rural placements are available to domestic students only, and students in the Kimberley Centre for Remote Medical Training undertake their clinical years in rural locations in Western Australia.
Yes, the Doctor of Medicine is accredited by the Australian Medical Council (AMC). To practice as a medical doctor in Australia, graduates must register with the Medical Board of Australia.
The Doctor of Medicine is offered at three campuses: Fremantle (WA), Broome (WA), and Sydney (NSW). Students enrolled in the Kimberley Centre for Remote Medical Training (KCRMT) spend their first two years learning on the Broome campus and then undertake their clinical years in rural locations in Western Australia.
The program is available as a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP), where the Australian Government subsidises part of the fees and eligible students may defer their student contribution using a HECS-HELP loan. Domestic Full Fee-Paying places are also available, with eligible students able to apply for FEE-HELP to assist with tuition fees. International Full Fee places are also offered.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
