The Doctor of Philosophy at Curtin University is a research-intensive degree where at least two-thirds of the study program must involve research. Although some coursework units may be required, the main part of your work will be in the form of a thesis written under the guidance of a supervisor and associate supervisor(s). Your thesis must be a substantial original contribution to knowledge through the discovery of new facts, the formulation of theories, or the innovative reinterpretation of known data and established ideas.
Admission to the doctoral degree is for a minimum period of two years and a maximum period of four years of equivalent full-time study. The course can be undertaken full-time or part-time.
Australian citizens, permanent residents and New Zealand citizens who are successful applicants of a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program are eligible for a tuition fee exemption under the Australian Government's Research Training Program (RTP), for up to four years of full-time equivalent study for Doctoral or PhD programs.
International applicants must demonstrate English proficiency. The IELTS Academic requirements for this course are: Writing 7.0, Speaking 7.0, Reading 7.0, Listening 7.0, and an Overall band score of 7.0. English proficiency may also be demonstrated using other accepted tests and qualifications as outlined by Curtin University.
Throughout your studies, Curtin's faculties will provide you with access to equipment and resources to support your research, as well as financial assistance to attend appropriate local and international conferences. Candidates are also guided by a supervisor and associate supervisor(s) throughout the thesis process.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
