Doctor of Philosophy - Marketing

Most admitted students will enter the pathway program, the Master of Pre-Doctoral Business Studies (MPDBS), which is a one-year fully funded program that includes a tuition waiver and stipend of approximately A$38K. Upon successful completion of the MPDBS, the vast majority of students have historically gone on to the PhD with a scholarship covering tuition and a stipend of approximately A$48K. A few students may be invited to apply for Direct Entry into the PhD program.

To apply, you need to receive an Invitation to Apply from the school's Postgraduate Research Coordinator. To receive this invitation, you should first self-assess your eligibility and then submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). The application processes for both the PhD and the Linked MPDBS + PhD are identical.

In Year One (MPDBS), you undertake rigorous coursework covering qualitative and quantitative research methods and work as a research assistant on faculty projects. In Year Two, you continue with advanced coursework, identify your thesis topic, conduct a literature review, and present your research proposal. In Years Three and Four, you focus on full-time research and completing your doctoral thesis, making an original contribution to the field of Marketing.
