The General English course is structured into six progressive levels: Beginner (Starter), Elementary, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate, Upper Intermediate, and Advanced. Each level runs for 10 weeks, with a total of 60 tuition weeks. The maximum course duration is 62 weeks, which includes a 2-week holiday break over Christmas/New Year.
The tuition fee is $3,000 for each level on commencement, or alternatively $300 per week. The total course fee for 60 weeks is $18,000, which includes all course materials.
Assessment includes both formative and summative components. Formative assessments consist of unit progress tests every two units, testing pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary and functional language, completed in Weeks 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9 of each level. Summative assessments include a Mid-course Test (Week 5) and an End-course Test (Week 10) per level, both written and spoken. Students must achieve a 60% pass mark for the End-course Test. Homework of approximately 5 hours per week is also required.
The course uses a combination of teacher-directed and student-centred learning. Delivery methods include lectures and workshops, workbooks, role plays and simulations, practical activities, presentations, discussions, oral presentations, individual and group instruction, audiovisual materials, web-based research, online activities, and independent research. Delivery is flexible, considering different learning styles, cultures, and needs of students, with an emphasis on developing macro-skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking) using communicative and integrated techniques.
Upon completing their studies, each student will receive an ELICOS General English Certificate and Transcript. The student's most recent summative test scores are recorded on the transcript along with comments from the teacher.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
