EAP 1 is for students who plan to study a Foundation Certificate or Murdoch University Preparation Course, and requires an IELTS of 5.0 overall (no band below 4.5). EAP 2 is for students preparing to enter university directly and requires an IELTS of 5.5 overall. Each level runs for 10 weeks, with a maximum combined duration of 20 weeks.
The course is designed to improve accuracy, fluency, and confidence across four key language skills: Speaking (giving presentations, participating in seminars and tutorials, working in groups), Listening (listening to lectures, note-taking techniques, listening skills practice), Reading (strategies such as skimming and scanning, understanding assignment questions, coping with extended reading), and Writing (learning to construct paragraphs, essays, reports and summaries, analyses of numerical data and case studies, research and referencing techniques).
Yes. Students who receive offers for the English for Academic Purposes 1 (EAP1) course (069098D), as part of a package with Murdoch College academic programs, will have their EAP1 fees waived under the English Support Scholarship (100%). This scholarship is designed to support students who need to improve their English skills before starting their academic program at Murdoch College.
EAP 1 only intakes are in February, March, June, September, and November. EAP 2 only intakes are in February, April, September, and November. Students wishing to complete both EAP 1 and EAP 2 can commence in February, June, September, or November.
Yes. For students without English test results, Murdoch College offers internal testing free of charge. You can contact them for more information at admissions@murdochcollege.edu.au.
