Common Questions
The course is structured into two levels. EAP 1 bridges the gap between General English and Academic English, taking students from B1 to high B1 (B1+) on the Common European Framework (CEF). It focuses on intermediate-level English language skills with emphasis on academic vocabulary, grammar, note taking, essay writing, presentation skills, research strategies, and understanding academic texts. EAP 2 equips students with the English language skills required for academic study at university or other tertiary level institutions, taking students from high B1 (B1+) to B2. It covers academic study skills, characteristics of written and spoken academic texts, academic culture, avoiding plagiarism, essay organisation, note taking, group discussion, writing references, and paraphrasing texts.
Assessment is divided into formative and summative components. Formative assessment consists of mini-tests per unit covering pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary and functional language, completed in Weeks 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 and 9 of each level. Summative assessment includes two tests per level (mid-course and end course), completed in Weeks 5 and 10 of each level. Students must achieve a 50% pass mark for both summative tests to progress to the next level. Upon successful completion of all enrolled levels, a Certificate is generated showing overall results.
The fees for the EAP course are as follows: Tuition Fee AU$7,600.00, Material Fee AU$400.00, and Enrolment Fee AU$250.00. Payment can be made via direct deposit/telegraphic transfer to Commonwealth Bank (BSB: 062 005, Account No: 1116 1515, Swift Code: CTBAAU2S for international transfers), or by credit card (Bankcard, MasterCard or Visa Card, with surcharges applying). Cash payments are not accepted.
Students must be 18 years old or older at the time of enrolment. All students will be assessed with a placement test and interview to determine the appropriate class level. In terms of English proficiency, an IELTS Band 5.0 with no band below 4.5 is required for entry into EAP Level 1, and an IELTS Band 5.5 with no band below 5.0 is required for entry into EAP Level 2.
The EAP course is delivered face to face in a classroom only and is made up of 20 units of study, each delivered over a week. Teaching methods include teacher directed and student-centred learning. Delivery is flexible to account for different learning styles, cultures and needs of students. Macro-skills are developed using communicative and integrated techniques. A combination of the following delivery methods is used: presentations, discussions, role-plays, oral presentations, individual and group instruction, audio visual materials, web-based research, online activities and independent research. Students use authentic materials together with materials prepared specifically for language learning within the classroom.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
