Eligibility
As an ELICOS provider, The Centre of Excellence requires international students to demonstrate English language proficiency to obtain a student visa, unless exempt. Students are exempt from providing an English test result if they:
Accepted English tests include IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge English (CAE), OET and PTE. Test results are valid for 2 years.

The course is called Essential English, and its CRICOS Course Code is 098029K.
Classes run for 20 hours per week (face-to-face). Total course duration is up to 68 weeks (including 8 weeks of breaks and public holidays) at the Adelaide campus, or 72 study weeks plus 12 weeks holiday at the Melbourne campus.
New intakes for the General English (ELICOS) course are accepted every week.
The course is open to anyone and is taught across three levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.
Teaching staff use a weekly assessment method covering reading, writing, listening and speaking, with feedback and a weekly grammar assessment used to track and certify each student's progress and overall level on completion.
