General English

The course fee is $360 per week for international students. A one-off application fee of $150 also applies, along with material fees: $150 for 1–12 weeks, $300 for 13–24 weeks, $450 for 25–36 weeks, $600 for 37–48 weeks, and $750 for 49–60 weeks. The materials fee is charged in advance at the rate of one fee per 12 weeks of classes.

General English is available on an 'anytime' basis, meaning courses commence shortly after enrolment or on the next available intake. Your exact start date will be confirmed on enrolment. General English starts any Monday (excluding public holidays and ELICOS holiday periods).

Successful completion of General English provides you with pathway options into academic English courses including English for Academic Purposes (EAP), IELTS Preparation and Cambridge Preparation, as well as TAFE Queensland vocational courses.

TAFE Queensland offers several payment options. The preferred payment method for international students is telegraphic transfer or credit card using Convera Global Pay for Students or the Flywire Payment Portal, which allow you to complete your payment in your own currency with no processing fees or delays. A payment plan may also be available if you have difficulty paying the full cost upfront.

General English is available at two campus locations: South Bank in Greater Brisbane and Southport on the Gold Coast. Both campuses offer on-campus, face-to-face, teacher-led and scheduled classes with assessment conducted on-campus.
