Common Questions
If you have a student visa, you must study 20 hours each week. It is also important that you do some extra study — Scots English College recommends that you spend another 10–15 hours per week doing homework and extra study.
Student intake occurs every Monday, so you can begin the General English course on any Monday throughout the year.
The General English course has six levels: Beginner, Elementary, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate, Upper-Intermediate, and Advanced. Each level is 10 weeks long, and your progress through the levels is based on your performance.
Students have access to online learning support through Scots' Student Portal to review lessons and materials, regular weekly testing and feedback from teachers, and free 1-hour classes Monday to Thursday from 2:45pm to 3:45pm focusing on key areas such as grammar, pronunciation, writing, CV writing, and job interviewing.
The General English course covers all four key language skills: Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening. The knowledge focus includes Grammar (30%), Vocabulary (30%), Pronunciation (20%), and Study Skills (20%), while the skill focus includes Reading (40%), Writing (40%), Listening (10%), and Speaking (10%).

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
