Prior to the start of the course, a brief placement assessment will be conducted to determine the most appropriate class level. The General English course ranges from 12 to 72 weeks of study. The mode of study is 20 hours a week face to face on campus plus 4 hours of personal or group study per week.
There are no minimum external English language test scores required for entry into the General English course. Students will be placed at a level based on their English proficiency test result (IELTS, PTE Academic or TOEFL). However, for students that have not undertaken a proficiency test, they will be required to complete the Dynamic English Placement Test by Clarity English upon enrolment.
The General English course is offered at two campuses: Gold Coast at 102b, Level 1, 9 Bay St, Southport, Queensland, 4215; and Sydney at Level 6, 16-18 Wentworth St, Parramatta, New South Wales, 2150. For timetable details, students should check with the admission team.
The curriculum emphasizes the development of the four foundational language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Key areas of focus include improving fluency and accuracy in spoken English, broadening vocabulary and lexical knowledge, developing comprehension of both native and non-native English speakers, and building the skills and confidence to communicate effectively beyond the classroom environment.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
