72 weeks including 12 weeks of break plus public holidays. The duration of the program may vary as per the learners' entry level, and their desired exit levels from the program.
Intake is every Monday.
Students will complete progress tests based on what they have learned, as a way of assessing their learning and achievement. Formative assessments are taken every week. Summative assessments are completed by week 5 and week 10. The level exit test is based on the level outcomes, and not the unit outcomes.
Once you are placed in the most suitable level, on the basis of the placement test, you will be able to commence your course. The course consists of six proficiency levels: Beginner, Elementary, Pre-intermediate, Intermediate, Upper-intermediate, and Advanced.
If you are on an academic pathway to other courses at Orange College, you will be able to transition into these courses after completing your General English course with achieved Upper Intermediate level.
