Old Testament Hebrew I
Presents you with the foundational tools, vocabulary and grammar to not only understand OT Hebrew, but also to translate simple OT Hebrew texts into English.
New Testament Greek I
Students will develop a foundational understanding of New Testament Greek grammar and vocabulary. They will learn to read, write, and translate simple Greek texts, enhancing their interpretative skills.
Old Testament Hebrew II
Builds upon Old Testament Hebrew 1 unit, enabling you to read OT Hebrew more effectively. Together students will translate many OT Hebrew texts into English.
New Testament Greek II
Builds on New Testament Greek 1 to give you a solid foundation for your knowledge of Biblical Greek, rounding out a full year of Greek study with a good working knowledge of Greek grammar.
New Testament Greek III
Builds on foundational understanding of Greek grammar and focuses on a more advanced understanding of Greek syntax, with significant emphasis on equipping you to read, translate and exegete the NT.
Old Testament Hebrew III
Bridges the gap between foundational basics of OT Hebrew grammar and an advanced understanding of OT Hebrew syntax, making reading and translating more effortless and rewarding.

The course comprises 4 subjects totalling 40 credit points: 1 core subject (10 credit points) chosen from either Old Testament Hebrew I (ANL401) or New Testament Greek I (ANL402), and 3 elective subjects (30 credit points) taken from accredited Level 8 and 9 subjects (400 or 500 level) in ANL.
Yes. The Graduate Certificate in Ancient Languages is a nested course within the Graduate Diploma in Theological Studies and the Master of Theological Studies. It can serve as a stepping stone for further studies in the Master of Theological Studies or as a standalone qualification.
The course costs $3,150 per subject (4 subjects in total). FEE-HELP is available for eligible domestic students.

Domestic applicants must have completed an AQF Level 7 Bachelor degree (or higher) in any discipline from an authorised institution. International students must also meet an IELTS (or equivalent) score of 7.5 with no score below 7.0 in any of the four skills areas. All applicants must provide proof of identity such as a Birth Certificate or current valid Passport.
