The Graduate Certificate in Applied Buddhist Studies can be completed in six months of full-time study, which is equivalent to one semester. Students also have the option to spread their subjects over a longer period, with part-time options available for domestic students only.
The Graduate Certificate in Applied Buddhist Studies requires the completion of 4 subjects for a total of 24 credit points. This includes 2 core subjects — ABS801 Introduction to Buddhism and ABS802 Mindfulness: Theory and Practice — plus 2 electives chosen from the available elective list, which may include 1 subject from the Health and Social Wellbeing Program.
Tuition fees are $11,400 for domestic students and $14,000 for international students. FEE-HELP is available to eligible Australian citizens. Tuition fees, non-tuition fees, and refunds are governed by NTI's Fees, Charges and Refunds Policy.
Yes. The course structure is designed to lay the basic foundations for further study and allows students to progress to the Graduate Diploma in Applied Buddhist Studies and work towards a Masters qualification, specifically the Master of Arts (Applied Buddhist Studies).
Applicants need an Australian Bachelor's degree or higher, an overseas qualification equivalent to an Australian Bachelor's degree or higher, or relevant work experience and professional training considered equivalent to an Australian Bachelor's degree or higher, as judged by the Applied Buddhist Studies Head of Program. Applicants must provide sufficient evidence of equivalence, such as a CV, evidence of professional training, or a referee's or employer's recommendation.
