Graduate Certificate in Chinese Medicine (exit only)

This is an exit program only. Applicants apply to 4716 - Master of Chinese Medicine and exit with the Graduate Certificate in Chinese Medicine. Offered as a Grad Certificate/Grad Diploma qualification of 40 credit points, it is normally completed in 0.5 years full-time and 1 year part-time. Students do not apply for this award directly: admission is to the parent program, and the qualification is conferred on those who leave that program early having completed the required credit points. It is administered within Western Sydney University's Health Sciences academic area. Subjects include Clinical Application of Classical Chinese Herbal Medicine, Evidence Based Practice in Chinese Medicine, Clinical Applications of Classical Acupuncture, Introduction to Epidemiology and Introduction to Biostatistics. Graduates are expected to be able to investigate, analyse and synthesise complex information, concepts and theories in order to advance health promotion in areas related to Chinese Medicine; demonstrate advanced theoretical and clinical knowledge of classical literature and its clinical relevance on pathological conditions in terms of Chinese Medicine; and communicate and negotiate effectively and ethically with health professionals, clients and non-specialist stakeholders via a range of media and formatse.
