Yes. The Graduate Certificate in Computing is specifically designed as a postgraduate introduction to computing for students without prior knowledge of IT and computing. It allows graduates and professionals from a non-IT background to add to their current knowledge and skills set with a recognised qualification in computing.
Applicants need either a recognised bachelor's degree or a tertiary academic qualification with a duration of at least three years' full-time equivalent with an equivalent average mark of 50%, or a diploma in any discipline with at least eight years of work experience. English language proficiency requirements also apply if English is not your first language.
The indicative full-fee paying place for the course is $18,376 for 2026. However, in 2026, domestic students may be eligible for either a Commonwealth supported place (CSP) or a UOW-subsidised fee reduction of up to 75% off the listed fee.
Yes. Upon successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in Computing, you may seek to continue your studies with the Master of Computing, Master of Computer Science, or Master of Information Technology. The Master of Computer Science and Master of Information Technology are professionally accredited by the Australian Computer Society.
The course starts twice a year. For Autumn 2026, the session starts on 2 March 2026, with application deadlines of 9 December 2025 for international students and 31 December 2025 for domestic students. For Spring 2026, the session starts on 27 July 2026, with application deadlines of 5 May 2026 for international students and 31 May 2026 for domestic students.
