The Graduate Certificate in Cybersecurity requires 24 credit points in total, comprising four units each worth 6 credit points: Foundations of Cybersecurity (CYB801), Security Engineering (CYB805), Cybersecurity Governance and Management Practices (CYB806), and Cyber Privacy, Policy, Ethics & Law (CYB808).
The course is delivered in a blended mode, combining scheduled on-campus, face-to-face classes of three hours per week for each unit with some online content and activities. Students can also access course scenarios, problems, and class material anytime and anywhere through the online learning management system (LMS).
Applicants must hold a Bachelor degree, Graduate Certificate, or equivalent qualification, or have 5 years of documented relevant work experience. Applicants must also meet the minimum English language proficiency requirements, such as an IELTS score of 6.5 overall with no individual band below 6.0, or equivalent scores in other accepted tests.
Students are required to supply their own laptop and bring it to all classes. Due to the technological requirements of the course, the recommended minimum specifications are: Intel Core i7 processor, at least 16GB of RAM, Cache Size 12MB or more, Primary HDD storage 256GB or more, Wireless networking IEEE 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, and Operating System Windows 11.
Graduates of the Graduate Certificate in Cybersecurity can pursue careers such as Chief Information Security Officer, Director of Cybersecurity, Cybersecurity Practice Lead, Cybersecurity Operations Coordinator, Cybersecurity Advisor and Assessor, Cybersecurity Auditor, Cyber Threat Analyst, and Incident Responder.
