The course can be completed in 6 months full time (1 semester) or 12 months part time (2 semesters), and consists of 24 credit points across four units.
Applicants must meet minimum English language proficiency requirements, including an IELTS score of 6.5 overall with no individual band below 6.0, a TOEFL internet-based score of 79 overall, a C1 Advanced / Cambridge English score of 176 overall, a PTE Academic score of 56 overall, or a Kaplan International Tools for English score of 459 overall. Test scores must be less than two years old on the date the course commences.
The course embeds a collaborative and technology-enabled active learning approach that encourages student participation, peer to peer learning and ongoing reflection. Students participate in small class groups with scheduled on-campus, face-to-face classes (three hours per week for each unit), supplemented by online content and activities through a learning management system (LMS). Assessments include smaller formative tasks with regular feedback, culminating in summative assessments mapped against unit and course learning outcomes.
Applicants require a Bachelor degree, Graduate Certificate, or equivalent qualification, or 5 years of documented relevant work experience. Applicants must also meet minimum English language proficiency requirements and are required to supply their own laptop meeting specified minimum hardware specifications including an Intel Core i7 processor, at least 16GB of RAM, and Windows 11 operating system.
Graduates of the Graduate Certificate in Cybersecurity (Management) can pursue careers including Chief Information Security Officer, Director of Cybersecurity, Cybersecurity Practice Lead, Cybersecurity Operations Coordinator, Cybersecurity Advisor and Assessor, Cybersecurity Auditor, and Cyber Threat Analyst.
