This Undergraduate Certificate may lead students into the Digital and Social Media major (MJRU-NETCM) within the Bachelor of Arts (B-ARTS) program at Curtin, and may also enable entry and credit for the four units completed into other majors at Curtin.
The course is 0.5 years (6 months) full-time or equivalent part-time study. Students can commence in either semester, but full-time study is not available for students who commence in Semester 1.
Curtin requires all applicants to demonstrate proficiency in English. For this course, the IELTS Academic requirements are: Writing 6, Speaking 6, Reading 6, Listening 6, and an Overall band score of 6.5.
The 2026 indicative first-year fee is $7,800 for a Commonwealth supported place. This fee is indicative for the first year only, is subject to passage of legislation, and does not include incidental fees or the cost of textbooks.
You will learn to apply principles and concepts of Digital Communication in a variety of contexts, apply critical and creative thinking and problem solving skills to generate innovative solutions, use technology appropriately to communicate concepts to experts and non-experts, consider global perspectives and international Digital Communication standards, demonstrate respect for Indigenous values and cultures, and work professionally in teams and independently while demonstrating life-long learning skills.
