Common Questions
No, the Graduate Certificate in Early Childhood Studies will not qualify graduates to teach children in an approved early childhood centre, but it may allow them to gain experience in a centre. Further studies and experience in early childhood teaching may provide the opportunity to qualify as a teacher in an early childhood centre.
For international students, the CRICOS-registered duration is 6 months of full-time study (1 semester). For domestic students, the course is 6 months full-time or 1 year part-time. Please note the part-time mode is not available to holders of a student visa who are not citizens of Australia or New Zealand, or who are not Australian permanent residents or temporary residents.
Applicants must have successfully completed a Bachelor's degree (AQF 7) or higher in any discipline, OR an Associate Degree or Advanced Diploma (AQF 6) in any relevant discipline plus at least two years full-time equivalent professional work experience. Where an applicant does not meet either of these requirements, admission may be granted if the Dean is satisfied that the applicant has a reasonable possibility of successfully completing the course.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
