Common Questions
The Graduate Certificate in Education Studies is intended for applicants without a 4-year Bachelor of Education and who therefore cannot satisfy entry to the existing Graduate Certificate in Education. It creates a pathway to postgraduate study of education via a three-year degree related to education, and articulates into the existing Master of Education Studies.
The standard duration is 0.5 years full time or part-time equivalent, with a maximum of 3 years from the date of enrolment to the date of course completion.
Applicants must have either: (1) a completed Bachelor degree or equivalent in education; (2) a completed Bachelor degree in any field and a Graduate Diploma (AQF8) in Education; or (3) a completed Bachelor degree or equivalent in any field and four years of work experience in education or a relevant field as approved by the University. Applicants with an assessable qualification lower than AQF 7 will be considered under equivalent graduate status.
The course is open for admissions in Semester 1 and Semester 2 each year. In 2026, teaching starts on 16 February (Semester 1) and 10 August (Semester 2), both open to domestic and international students. In 2027, teaching starts on 15 February (Semester 1) and 09 August (Semester 2).
There are currently no formal credit transfer arrangements for entry to this course. Any previous study or work experience will only be considered as part of the application process in accordance with current course rules and university policy.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
