Common Questions
Yes, if you have undertaken previous studies at another institution or have significant relevant employment experience, you may be eligible to apply for RPL. UTS assesses RPL only after an enrolment offer is accepted, and you should submit your application before your initial enrolment or as soon as possible after receiving your offer.
RPL at UTS can be determined through articulation agreements with external tertiary institutions, or on a case-by-case basis based on previous study and work experience. It may be granted as specified credit (subject exemption) when prior learning is equivalent to a specific UTS subject, or as unspecified credit when it counts towards an elective component but is not equivalent to a specific subject.
You will be notified of your RPL outcome via your UTS webmail account within four to six weeks of application submission. All RPL decisions are final as per the Admissions and RPL Policy, though you can submit a complaint to the Student Complaints Resolution Office or seek review from the Student Ombudsman if dissatisfied.
You need to provide certified official academic records and qualifications, along with supporting evidence such as subject outlines, comparison tables, or portfolios. Non-English documents must be officially translated and submitted with certified copies. Official academic records must be certified and sighted as true copies by authorised offices such as the UTS Student Centre, a Justice of the Peace, or an Australian Overseas Diplomatic Mission.
International students should consider the impact of RPL on their course duration and student visa requirements. It is recommended to apply for RPL when applying for your UTS course to ensure processing before your letter of offer is issued. Applications made after the first session will only be considered in exceptional circumstances with a written statement explaining the delay and any previous applications.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
